The Manchester Wolves play their home games at the Verizon Wireless Arena in downtown Manchester, NH, joining the Manchester Monarchs and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats as New Hampshire's professional sports teams.
AF2 is a developmental league owned and operated by the Arena Football League (AFL). Arena football is an indoor brand of football played in arenas on a field about half the size of an NFL field, only 50 yards long. The sidelines are made of the same walls used for hockey, only without the glass and with some padding. This puts the fans just a few feet from the action. A player can not simply run out of bounds in AF2, they are out only when they get hit into the walls. Arena Football is played with only 8 players on the field, as opposed to the 11 allowed in the NFL. Forward motion is also permitted prior to the snap in the AF2, allowing for a wide receiver to be at full speed towards the defensive when the play begins.
